Highway 40/285 South to Hugo...

Saturday after unloading refurbishing supplies.
I took 40/285 South to Hugo the County Seat of Lincoln County.
The goal was to post signs announcing the Limon Community Farmer's Market.

Old gas stations were just waiting for the event.
Like a verse from a Willie Nelson Song, they sit along the route in silent testimony about better economic times.

Hugo had three old buildings, one on each end, including the middle.
A nice conversation evolved with a gentleman who has operated a Liquor Store for over 35 years.

He spoke of a shooting club that had Gun Shows, however now they do not have a place to hold the event.
This is Club that had over 100 members.
I discussed 941 main street, the September Gun Show.
I believe the lack of a building to house events has been eliminated.

Kit Carson a first time visit, had it's share of buildings in need of occupants.

Soon I drove past the Interstate Gas Compound.
Oh, well going Solar * Wind , I won't be needing their services, or high prices.

Just a little West of Sugar City miles of Train Cars sat empty, once used to
transport automobiles to Dealerships.
Set backs at crossings gave way to roads leading to homes on the Prairie.
The grass was dry and brown, only at Sugar City did I see green.

The next tour will be East on the noisy concrete of I-70.
Burlington is only 75 miles East of Limon.
Small communities await.

This week the refurbishing starts on 941 main.
